Haryana: 33 IPS Officers Reshuffled, Alok Kumar Roy Appointed DG, Railways and Commando (HQ)

The government of Haryana has lately mandated the transfer of as many as 28 IPS officers with immediate effect. SPs of a handful of districts were reshuffled, and the government handed over additional charges to three IPS officers.

IPS Alok Kumar Roy (1991 batch), DG, Human Rights and Litigation, Haryana, Panchkula, has been posted as DG, Railways and Commando (headquarters), Panchkula.

IPS O P Singh (1992 batch) will continue as MD, Haryana Police Housing Corporation with additional charge of ADGP, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau and as Director, Forensic Sciences Laboratory, Madhuban.

IPS Pankaj Nain (2007 batch), Special Officer (Community Policing and Outreach) in the Chief Minister’s Office will also be DIG, Security CID (headquarters) in addition to his present duties. IPS Vikas Arora (1998 batch) will continue in his current posting as Gurugram Police Commissioner after promotion to the rank of Additional DGP.

IPS Rakesh Kumar Arya (2003 batch), Inspector General of Police, Telecommunication (headquarters), Panchkula, has been posted as Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, in addition to his present duties.

Yamunanagar’s incumbent SP, IPS Ganga Ram Punia (2013 batch) will be the new SP of Karnal while IPS Rajesh Kumar (2014 batch), SP, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Haryana, has been posted as SP, Jind.

IPS Mohit Handa (2015 batch), SP, Karnal has been posted as DCP (Crime), Gurugram and IPS Maqsood Ahmed (2016 batch), SP, Hansi, has been posted as DCP (Crime), Faridabad.

IPS Nitish Agarwal (2017 batch), DCP (Crime), Gurugram, has been posted as Bhiwani SP, and IPS Pooja Vashishth (2018 batch), SP, Charkhi Dadri, has been posted as SP, Mahendragarh, while IPS Jasleen Kaur (2019 batch), DCP (Central), Faridabad has been posted as DCP (Traffic), Faridabad.

Among the IPS transferees is an officer facing allegations of sexual harassment. The Haryana Police had earlier mentioned that they launched an inquiry after a letter surfaced on social media platforms in which an IPS officer was accused of sexually harassing some female cops. The IPS officer has been shifted from the district where he was currently posted as Superintendent of Police.
