Haryana Govt Appoints Five IAS Officers As Special Officers To Ensure Smooth Paddy Procurement, Sujan Singh Went As Special Officer To Ambala

The government of Haryana has appointed five IAS officers as special officers in various districts to ensure the smooth operation of the new system implemented for gate passes in the mandis and immediate government procurement of paddy brought by the farmers with up to 17% moisture.

Dr. Anshaj Singh (2008-batch IAS officer) has been appointed as the special officer for Kurukshetra, IAS Jitendra Kumar for Yamunanagar, IAS Pankaj (2009 batch) for Kurukshetra, IAS Sujan Singh (2009 batch) for Ambala, and IAS Chandra Shekhar Khare (2008 batch) for Karnal. These seasoned bureaucrats are expected to ensure immediate procurement of paddy from farmers who bring their crops to market with the prescribed moisture content in accordance with government standards.

The authorities are urging the farmers to dry their paddy according to government standards before bringing it to mandis in a bid to streamline the purchasing process and avoid unnecessary delay. The farmers will now not have to wait for the Mandi gate pass.

The Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) has introduced a new system allowing farmers to generate their “Mandi gate pass.” The farmers can now use the e-Kharid mobile application or visit the website/portal to create their passes conveniently.
