Dehradun: The Health Department in Uttarakhand is going to organize a health fortnight across the state from September 17 to October 2. Regarding which Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar held an important meeting with departmental officials at the State Secretariat.
During the meeting, the Health Secretary said that the government’s goal is to provide quality health services to the general public. In this series, free health camps will be organized in medical colleges, district and sub-district hospitals, community health centers and sub-centers across the state during the health fortnight.
Tests, consultation and medicines will be made available to patients: In these camps, tests, consultation and medicines will be made available to patients. Along with this, large blood donation camps will also be organized at various places, in which common citizens, public representatives and students will also be motivated for active participation.
The Health Secretary said that the Health Fortnight is a big step in this direction, which aims not only to make health services accessible, but also to make people aware of diseases and promote voluntary participation. He directed the officials to prepare a concrete action plan and implement it to make the health fortnight a success.
4,604 camps will be set up in Uttarakhand
522 in Almora district, 109 in Bageshwar district, 206 in Chamoli district, 120 in Champawat district, 425 in Dehradun district, 367 in Haridwar district, 367 in Nainital district, 679 in Pithoragarh district, 573 in Pauri district, 239 in Rudraprayag district, 533 in Tehri district, 256 in Udham Singh Nagar district and 208 camps will be set up in Uttarkashi district.
Special consultation facility to these patients: The Health Secretary said that special consultation will also be provided to pregnant women, TB patients and patients suffering from serious diseases in these camps. Along with this, information about all the health schemes run by the Central and State Government will be given to the people.
At the same time, many important decisions have also been taken in the meeting. Under which blood donation camps will also be set up in every health camp in the state. Special blood donation camps will be organized in all medical colleges. Health desks will be set up in major medical institutions and district hospitals, where the visiting patients will be given information related to the health fortnight and government schemes.
A standard operating procedure (SOP) will be issued by the Health Department soon. Specialist camps will be organized up to the Community Health Center (CHC) level. In this, specialist doctors will provide their services for heart disease, diabetes, respiratory diseases, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and other serious diseases.
Apart from this, other departments will also be included to make the campaign successful. Their roles and responsibilities will be decided. Adequate availability of medicines and other essential materials will be ensured with the cooperation of the Food Safety and Drug Controller Department.
Private medical colleges, nursing colleges and private health institutions will also be included in this campaign. Specialist doctors of medical colleges will be given duty in health camps. Public representatives will be made Nishchay Mitra.
