Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is also emphasizing on wedding destinations while promoting tourism activities in the state. In this episode, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting at the Secretariat on Monday to formulate a destination wedding policy. During the meeting, the CM gave instructions to promote destination weddings in Uttarakhand. Along with improving road connectivity in Triyuginarayan, he also ordered to build a helipad there.
Guidelines for ‘Destination Uttarakhand’
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed that new places should be identified for destination weddings in the state. Attention should be paid to their development. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also urged the countrymen to give priority to Uttarakhand for destination weddings. The CM said that destination weddings will strengthen the economy of the state. The natural beauty and modern facilities of Uttarakhand will help in making it a major wedding destination. Along with this, the CM directed the Tourism Department to prepare a guideline for ‘Destination Uttarakhand’ as soon as possible.
After the meeting concluded, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that PM Narendra Modi has recently appealed to all the countrymen from Mukhwa, the winter residence of Maa Ganga, that the best place for weddings is Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Accordingly, the state government is making plans. Also, some new places are being identified for wedding destinations. CM Dhami said that a meeting will also be held soon with the people doing wedding events. So that more and more people can be provided facilities to do weddings in Devbhoomi.
