High level meeting regarding preparations for Nanda Rajjat ​​Yatra, responsibilities of officials fixed

Dehradun: Preparations have started for the Nanda Devi Rajjat ​​Yatra to be held in the year 2026. In this sequence, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a virtual meeting with officials from Delhi on Tuesday. During the meeting, the CM directed to expedite the preparations for the Nanda Devi Rajjat ​​Yatra. Also, all the departments should work in coordination to organize the grand Nanda Rajjat ​​Yatra. Apart from this, the CM also talked about taking suggestions from public representatives, members of Nanda Rajjat ​​Yatra Committee and stakeholders for better arrangements of the Yatra.

CM Dhami directed the Chief Secretary to constitute a high-level committee for the successful conduct of Nanda Rajjat ​​Yatra. Keeping in mind the experiences of previous Yatras, better arrangements should be made. Along with improving all the walking routes related to the Yatra, special attention should be paid to cleanliness. Along with better arrangements for the stay of the devotees at the halt of the Yatra, instructions were also given to make arrangements for food and bathing houses.

CM Dhami said that the safety of the devotees is of utmost importance. In such a situation, all the necessary arrangements should be completed to face all the challenges in the high Himalayan regions during the journey. Digital tracking system should be made along with telecommunication arrangements on the travel route. Keeping in view the safety of the passengers, helpline number should be issued during the journey. Special attention should be given to health facilities during the journey. Medical camps and doctors should be deployed. Heli ambulance should also be arranged during the journey.

The CM said that the Nanda Rajjat ​​Yatra takes place during the rainy season. During which all necessary preparations should be made to prevent infectious diseases. Since most of the halts of the journey are in the forest area, take special care of the safety of the forest and environment. Ensure adequate availability of tents for the devotees. The Chief Minister said that folk songs and folk tales related to Nanda Rajjat ​​should also be documented. The halts of the journey should also be promoted on a wide scale by the Tourism Department.

CM said that all necessary arrangements should be made for crowd management and traffic system during Nada Rajjat ​​Yatra. Parking spaces should be arranged. Drinking water, toilets and other basic facilities should be made available on the Yatra routes. CM directed the Chief Secretary to personally review the preparations of Nada Rajjat ​​Yatra every month. Garhwal and Kumaon Commissioners will also review the preparations related to the Yatra every week. All the areas from where devotees and palanquins come in Garhwal and Kumaon have also been asked to improve roads, drinking water and other necessary facilities.
