New Delhi: The Government of India has entrusted Nitin Kumar Yadav (IAS:2000:HY), currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, with the ex-post facto additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
ACC Approves Additional Charge Assignment
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the ex-post facto assignment of additional charge to Mr. Yadav.
He will hold the charge from October 25, 2025, until Neeraj Kharwal (IAS:2007:UK) assumes office as Managing Director, ITPO, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
This temporary arrangement ensures leadership continuity at ITPO, which serves as India’s premier organization for promoting trade and organizing national and international exhibitions.
Neeraj Kharwal to Take Over as ITPO Managing Director
Neeraj Kharwal (IAS:2007:UK) was appointed as Managing Director of ITPO on November 1, 2025. However, he has not yet been relieved by the Uttarakhand Government, where he is presently serving.
Until Mr. Kharwal formally assumes charge, Mr. Yadav will oversee the functioning of ITPO alongside his responsibilities in the Department of Commerce, ensuring that all ongoing trade promotion activities and preparations for upcoming global events remain on track.

A 2000-batch IAS officer of the Haryana cadre, Mr. Nitin Kumar Yadav has held several key administrative and policy positions both in the state and at the Centre.
In his current role as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, he has been instrumental in various trade facilitation and export promotion initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
