The Union government has recently asked Ms. R. Menaka, a 2011-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce, to take charge in the Cabinet Secretariat as a Deputy Secretary.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on November 25th, 2024, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the Civil Services Board’s recommendation for her lateral shift to the Cabinet Secretariat for the remaining period of her four-year central deputation tenure, up to June 27th, 2028, or until further orders, whichever transpires earlier.
