New Delhi: The NaMo 0.3 administration on Monday extended the service tenure of Tapan Kumar Deka (IPS: 1988: HP) as Director, Intelligence Bureau for a period of one year beyond 30.06.2024. To facilitate the extension the Centre relaxed the provisions of FR 56 (d) and Rule 16 (1A) of All India Services (Death cum Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958.
In addition, the tenure of Bharat Lal (Retd IFoS: 1988: GJ) as Secretary General, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) was also extended for a period of one year beyond 30.06.2024 or until further orders. Currently, he is serving in the NHRC in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India on contract basis.
