IFS Anurag Srivastava Appointed as India’s Next High Commissioner to Mauritius

Anurag Srivastava, a senior Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1999 batch, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Mauritius. Srivastava, who is currently serving as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, will take on the prestigious diplomatic assignment as part of India’s efforts to strengthen bilateral ties with Mauritius.

Srivastava’s career in the IFS spans over two decades, during which he has held several key positions in India’s diplomatic missions and at the Ministry of External Affairs. His appointment to the high commissioner’s role comes at a time when India and Mauritius are deepening their strategic cooperation, with particular focus on areas such as economic engagement, maritime security, and people-to-people connections.

As High Commissioner, Srivastava will be responsible for representing India in Mauritius and working to further enhance the robust bilateral relations between the two nations. His experience in foreign affairs and diplomacy positions him well to navigate the opportunities and challenges in this important diplomatic role.
