Senior Indian Foreign Service officer, Ms. Vani Sarraju Rao was appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of San Marino. Ms. Rao, a 1994-batch IFS officer, is presently posted as the Indian Ambassador to the Republic of Italy. Despite her appointment to San Marino, her residence will remain in Rome and she is expected to assume her new responsibilities shortly.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs stated, “Ms. Vani Sarraju Rao (IFS: 1994), presently Ambassador of India to the Republic of Italy, has been concurrently accredited as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of San Marino, with residence in Rome.“
