Dehradun: IG Garhwal has suspended Clementown SHO Deepak Dhariwal for negligence. Also, IG Garhwal has directed SSP Dehradun to get the entire matter investigated by a gazetted officer. Let us tell you that IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop had directed every SHO of the range to do checking in the border and sensitive areas during the New Year. Despite Sunday being a weekend, SHO Clementown Deepak Dhariwal was not found present at the checking despite being personally told over the phone to do checking at the check post in view of the sensitivity of the border. Earlier, guidelines were issued to prevent drug smuggling that if information of drug smuggling is received in any police station area or if any other police station arrests the accused involved in smuggling in that police station area, then action will be taken against the concerned SHO.
On Sunday, two foreign nationals of Cobra Gang were arrested with cocaine by Rajpur police station. Who were living in Clementown police station area for a long time and Clementown police had no information in this regard. Which shows the negative attitude of the SHO in the effort to stop drug smuggling. The SHO has failed to discharge his duties. After which the SHO Clementown has been suspended with immediate effect. IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop has told that SSP Dehradun has been directed to get this matter investigated by a gazetted officer. Also, it has been clearly instructed that such negligence will not be tolerated.
