Immediate ban on construction on the banks of rivers and streams in Uttarakhand, CM said – action will be taken against careless officers

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting with senior officials of the government, administration and police on Monday, September 8. In the meeting, the disaster-like situation in all parts of Uttarakhand, law and order, ongoing reconstruction work as well as arrangements related to Chardham Yatra were discussed. District Magistrates of all the districts were virtually connected in the meeting.

CM Dhami said that the first priority of the government is to provide immediate relief, security and facilities to the public. Along with this, CM Dhami directed that the administrative machinery should be active to start the repair and reconstruction work as soon as the rains end. Adequate availability of relief material and dry ration should be ensured till the monsoon.

Apart from this, proper arrangements should be made for the stay, food and other essential facilities of the disaster affected. The damage caused to crops, drinking water lines and government properties should be immediately assessed and a report should be sent to the government.

Immediate relief funds should be provided to the disaster affected: At the same time, the ban on permission for construction near rivers and drains should be strictly enforced. Also said that strict action will be taken by fixing the responsibility of the officers who do not comply with the restrictions. During the meeting, the CM directed all the District Magistrates to provide immediate relief funds to the disaster affected as per the standard. Also, the District Magistrate should inspect the hospitals from time to time and assess all the arrangements. All necessary arrangements should be made in the hospitals to prevent dengue, malaria and other waterborne diseases.

Suspicious activities should be constantly monitored: Not only this, CM Dhami directed all the District Magistrates to hold a meeting of the Health Department in their respective districts soon. The CM directed that strict action should be taken against those who obstruct law and order. Regular action should be taken against those who issue unauthorized Aadhar cards, voter IDs. Constant monitoring should be done on outsiders and suspicious activities. Checking and strictness should be increased in the border areas and action should be taken by identifying suspicious persons.

Priority should be given to local laborers: At the same time, effective action should be taken for the protection of cows. The CM directed the officials to expedite the reconstruction and infrastructure works after the rains. Local laborers should be given priority in government construction works. Street light arrangements should be ensured in villages and urban areas. It should be ensured that the Chardham Yatra is conducted smoothly with vigilance after the monsoon. Devotees should get information about bad weather on time.

Regular organization of multipurpose camps: Along with this, CM Dhami directed the District Magistrates to send the report of the Chief Minister’s announcements and ongoing works of every district to the Chief Minister’s Office in 15 days. Chaupal programs at the village level, district level public hearing, Tehsil Day, BDC meetings and multipurpose camps should be organized regularly.

Detailed preparation of Seva Pakhwada program: The CM said that detailed preparations should be made for the Seva Pakhwada program from September 17, the birthday of the Prime Minister, to Gandhi Jayanti. Work should be done on the theme of service, cleanliness and public convenience. Along with running regular cleanliness campaigns in the districts, the District Magistrate himself should participate in the cleanliness program once a week. Along with repairing the damaged roads soon, the roads should be made pothole-free under the campaign.

The CM directed that the action of 1905 CM Helpline and 1064 Anti Corruption Campaign should continue continuously. Disaster Volunteer, Sankat Mochan Dal and mock drills should be conducted at the district level to overcome the challenges of disaster. The Chief Minister said that all the certificates being provided under the Right to Service should be made available in the language (Hindi or English) demanded by the applicant. Strict action should be taken against those involved in the process of manufacturing and selling fake medicines.
