In the campaign, 11 unnamed and unclimbed mountain peaks located in the Mana region of Uttarakhand will be climbed, CM Dhami flagged off the campaign

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday flagged off the mountaineering campaign of 11 unnamed and unclimbed mountain peaks in the Manapas area located in Chamoli district on behalf of the Nehru Mountaineering Institute from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. This campaign will be organized till 15 August 2024. Its objective is to set new dimensions in the field of mountaineering and also to pay tribute to those brave mountaineers of Uttarakhand state of Advanced Mountaineering Course who lost their lives in the natural disaster that occurred last year on Draupadi Ka Danda mountain peak. Information was given about the campaign that 11 unnamed and unclimbed peaks situated in Mana region of Uttarakhand will be climbed, in which 05 peaks are more than 6000 m high and the remaining 06 peaks are more than 5500 m high. These 11 unnamed peaks climbed by the institute will be named after the climbers who lost their lives bravely on Draupadi Ka Danda mountain peak.
This campaign will be led by the Principal of the institute, Colonel Anshuman Bhadoria and the Deputy Principal and Medical Officer of the institute, Captain Santosh Kumar will be the deputy leader. The expedition team includes the institute’s trainers and mountaineers Rakesh Rana, senior trainer, trainer Deep Sahi, Vinod Gusai, Saurabh Singh, Anup Panwar, assistant trainer Ravindra Rawat, Subedar Major Hazari Lal, Naib Subedar Bhupendra Singh, Naib Subedar Bahadur Pahan, Naib Subedar Ravindra Singh, Havildar Thajali Poon, Naik Manoj Kumar, assistant trainer Ajit Rawat, Navprabhat, Himanshu Joshi, assistant trainer, Pankaj Panwar, Munendra Rana, assistant trainer and Surya Rawat.
