Dehradun: The pressure of the Secretariat Union regarding Diwali holiday worked. The Uttarakhand government has now issued an order regarding public holiday on 1 November as well. A day earlier, the government had declared a holiday on 31 October and issued an order to open the office on 1 November. After which, the state employees were showing resentment towards the Secretariat Union. After this, now after the demand of the Secretariat Union, the government has ordered a holiday for 1 November as well with the approval of the Chief Minister.

Diwali holiday on 1 November in Uttarakhand

Diwali holiday in Uttarakhand will be on 31 October as well as 1 November. Actually, this time there was confusion about the day of Diwali. It was being said that along with 31 October, 1 November will also be Diwali day. Although the state government had declared a public holiday on November 1, but due to this confusion, the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association had demanded a holiday on October 31 as well. In view of this demand of the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association, the government declared a holiday on October 31 but cancelled the holiday on November 1.

Diwali holiday will be for two days

After the order of the government itself, the resentment of the employees was visible against the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association. The Uttarakhand Secretariat Association was also terming this decision of the government as wrong. In this matter, the officials of the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association met the Chief Secretary and demanded a holiday on November 1 as well by amending the matter.

Earlier the holiday was declared on October 31

The special thing is that taking a decision on this demand of the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association, the government has now declared a holiday on November 1 as well. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi gave instructions to declare a holiday on the demand letter of the Secretariat Association. After this, the date of public holiday has been declared with the approval of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. In this way, now in Uttarakhand, there will be a public holiday on Diwali on 31 October as well as on 1 November. That is, two back to back holidays will be available.
