Dehradun: Amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan and after Operation Sindoor, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high level meeting in Dehradun on May 7. During the meeting, the CM instructed the officials to make special arrangements for the security of Chardham Yatra, important establishments, dams and power plants located in Uttarakhand in view of the conditions of the international border. He has also instructed the government, administration and police to remain on alert mode.
In fact, after Operation Sindoor, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with the Chief Ministers and high officials of the border states on Wednesday. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also virtually connected in this meeting. Because the state of Uttarakhand also shares its border with Nepal and China. After the meeting of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Dhami held a meeting with the high officials of the state. In the meeting, CM Dhami said that strong security arrangements should be made in all areas of the state bordering the international border. Suspicious activities in the border areas should be closely monitored. At present, Chardham Yatra is going on in the state, in which lakhs of pilgrims are participating. Therefore, strong security arrangements should be made in all the four Dhams including the travel route.
He said that there are many establishments of national importance in Uttarakhand. Necessary steps should be taken for the security of these institutions. For any kind of emergency, the supply of essential commodities including food grains should be maintained at the district and tehsil level. Hospitals should be kept on alert for emergency situations. Full arrangements of all essential medicines should be made. Civil defense teams and voluntary organizations should be trained for rescue and relief work.
The Chief Minister said that people should also be alerted with correct information. Also, it should be kept in mind that only correct and certified information reaches the general public in every way, so that they can stay away from rumors. Also, strict action should be taken against those who spread rumors. It should be constantly monitored through social media. The Chief Minister said that in view of the current circumstances, leave of personnel should not be approved except in emergency situations. He directed all the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to review the security arrangements in their respective districts. Appealing to the people to maintain peace and order, he said that the government and administration are ready to help in every way. The Chief Minister has expressed special gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for providing additional central security forces for the Chardham Yatra.
