Dehradun: Heavy rains since late Monday night have created a disaster-like situation in Dehradun and other parts of Uttarakhand. However, relief and rescue operations are continuing in the affected areas. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the State Disaster Operations Center late Tuesday night to assess the situation. During this meeting, CM Dhami reviewed the relief and rescue operations by meeting with officials from the Disaster Management Department, SDRF, district administration, and other agencies.
CM Pushkar Dhami reviewed the damage caused by heavy rains in Dehradun and other districts of the state at the Disaster Control Room. He also directed that relief and rescue operations be conducted on a war footing. All those affected by the heavy rains should be provided immediate assistance and efforts should be made on a war footing to find those missing. He stated that the government stands shoulder to shoulder with all affected families in this hour of disaster.
CM Dhami gave clear instructions that there should be no laxity in relief and rescue operations. Officials should visit the affected areas and address the people’s problems. He also directed that special vigilance be maintained in all districts in the coming days in view of the alert issued by the Meteorological Department.
