Dehradun: After the cases of corona infection came to the fore in the state, the Health Department has instructed all the hospitals to operate a separate flu OPD. So that all the patients suffering from cough, cold and fever can be treated in the flu OPD. Doon Medical College Principal Dr. Geeta Jain told about this.

However, it may take time to operate a separate flu OPD in the state’s largest government Doon Medical College Hospital. Doon Medical College Principal Dr. Geeta Jain said that this week a flu clinic will be operated in the hospital for respiratory illness. After this, patients suffering from cough, cold and fever will be treated separately. He said that-

Adequate quantity of kits for RTPCR and ELISA tests related to corona are available in Doon Hospital. According to Dr. Geeta Jain, this time the Omicron variant is not so deadly as compared to the first, second and third wave of Corona. Whatever reports have come out regarding Corona till now, no such serious thing has come to light in those reports. But whatever guidelines have been issued by the government, all those guidelines are being followed by the hospital.

Preparations regarding Corona infection by the hospital

Doon Medical College Principal Dr. Geeta Jain says that Doon Hospital is fully alert regarding Covid. So far no corona infected patient has been found in the hospital. She told that 20 ICU and 10 pediatric beds have been reserved for patients suffering from corona infection. Corona testing will be done free of cost in Doon Hospital. Sufficient kits are available for this. However, more demands have been sent by the hospital administration for more kits.

More than 1000 active cases of corona in India

According to the report of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the active cases of corona virus in India have increased to 1009. According to the report of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 752 patients have been registered after 19 May 2025. It is a matter of relief that during this period 305 patients have also been cured. However, 7 people have lost their lives. The highest number of corona patients have been found in Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi and Gujarat. It is worth noting that the infection of Omicron JN.1 variant is spread all over the world including India. So far 3 corona infected patients have been found in Uttarakhand. These three people had come to Uttarakhand from other states.
