The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has lately transferred the incumbent Director General of Police (DGP) of Goa, Mr. Jaspal Singh, a 1996-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, from Goa to Delhi. Another 1996-batch IPS officer, Mr. Alok Kumar, who was last posted as the Inspector General (IG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), was appointed the new DGP of Goa.
This development follows an inquiry ordered by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant after the demolition of a house in North Goa’s Assagao last month, where it was alleged that the former DGP, Officer Jaspal Singh, had “pressurised” his subordinates to allow the demolition of the house.
