IPS Sadanand Vasant Made DG of NIA, IPS Piyush Anand DG of NDRF

New Delhi: The Union government, via a circular issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, mandated the appointment of senior IPS officer Mr. Sadanand Vasant (1990 batch Maharashtra cadre) as the new Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), replacing Mr. Dinkar Gupta (1987 batch IPS) on his superannuation.

Mr. Vasant, who had earlier served as the Chief of Maharashtra’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), shall assume his new designation for a tenure up to his superannuation on 31.12.2026 or until further orders, whichever transpires earlier.

While Mr. Piyush Anand (1991 batch UP cadre IPS), the incumbent Special DG of CISF, was mandated to assume office as the Director General of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) until further orders.
