IPS Vijayendra Bidari’s Deputation Tenure as CBI Joint Director Extended for Six Months

The deputation tenure of Vijayendra Bidari, an IPS officer from the 2005 batch of Tamil Nadu cadre, has been extended for six months in his role as Joint Director at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

According to a recent order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension, which will extend Mr. Bidari’s tenure beyond the original end date of July 18, 2024. The new extension will remain in effect until January 18, 2025, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes first.

Mr. Bidari’s extended tenure comes at a time when the CBI is actively engaged in several high-profile cases and investigations, and his leadership is expected to provide stability and continuity in the bureau’s efforts to address complex and significant issues.
