Nalina Sofia T (IRS C&IT:2010) has been appointed as Director in the NITI Aayog for a period of five years, according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
A senior officer from the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes), Ms. Sofia brings extensive experience in taxation, fiscal policy, and economic administration. Her appointment is expected to strengthen the policy think tank’s analytical and strategic framework, particularly in areas related to economic reform, fiscal management, and policy innovation.
The move underscores the government’s commitment to bringing officers from diverse administrative backgrounds into NITI Aayog to enrich its multidisciplinary policy ecosystem.
K R S Krishnam Naidu Appointed as OSD to Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications
In a parallel development, K R S Krishnam Naidu (IRS IT:2015) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, in the Ministry of Rural Development.
Mr. Naidu will serve in the role at the Deputy Secretary level for a tenure up to November 20, 2027
As OSD, he will assist in coordinating key policy initiatives and developmental programmes under the minister’s purview, with a focus on rural infrastructure, digital connectivity, and welfare outreach.
His appointment is seen as part of the government’s effort to strengthen the ministerial secretariat with officers possessing strong administrative and analytical capabilities.
