The Union Public Service Commission has announced the cadre allocation for candidates selected through the Civil Services Examination 2024. Out of the 1,009 candidates recommended for various central services, a total of 179 individuals have been allotted the IAS cadre across different states.
The official list, available on the UPSC website, shows that Jharkhand has received only eight IAS officers this year. These postings are expected to strengthen the administrative framework of the state and contribute to ongoing developmental initiatives.

This year, eight officers have been assigned to the Jharkhand cadre. Their diverse backgrounds are expected to enrich the administrative ecosystem of the state.
Rank 59 Achiever Vidyanshu Shekhar Jha Gets Home Cadre
Mr. Vidyanshu Shekhar Jha, who secured All India Rank 59, has been allotted the Jharkhand cadre.
His journey is notable because he did not clear the prelims exam in his first three attempts. However, he succeeded in his final attempt and earned his place in the IAS
Jharkhand is also his home state, making this allocation a meaningful milestone for him.
Candidates From UP, Delhi and Jharkhand Included in Allocation
The new Jharkhand list features officers from various states.
Some of the key allocations include:
- Mr. Yash Kumar, with rank 990, assigned to Jharkhand. He belongs to Uttar Pradesh.
- Ms. Ira Jorwal, ranked 450, allotted to Jharkhand. She is from Delhi.
- Ms. Aastha Sharan, rank 354, also assigned to Jharkhand. She hails from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.
These officers bring varied experiences that could contribute to more efficient governance.

More candidates with strong ranks have been added to the Jharkhand cadre.
