J&K: 2 IPS Officers Transferred, Posts 4 Awaiting SP-Rank Officers in J&K, Alok Kumar Given Addl Charge of Home Guards & SDRF

Srinagar: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday ordered the transfer of two senior IPS officers and assigned postings to four SP-rank officers who had been awaiting adjustment.

According to an official order, SJM Gillani, a 1994-batch IPS officer presently serving as Managing Director of the J&K Police Housing Corporation and holding additional charge as Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, J&K, has been transferred and posted as Special DG Coordination, Police Headquarters (PHQ). He will continue to hold the additional charge of MD, J&K Police Housing Corporation.

Alok Kumar, a 1997-batch IPS officer currently serving as Director, J&K Fire and Emergency Services, has been given additional charge as Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, J&K, in addition to his current responsibilities.

In a separate order, four SP-rank officers from the Telecom cadre, who had been awaiting adjustment, were posted against available vacancies:

  • Fayaz Yasin Dar, SP (Telecom), has been posted as SP Telecom, Kashmir Zone.
  • Akthar Hussain Buch, SP (Telecom), has been posted as Staff Officer to DPT.
  • Javid Iqbal Attar, SP (Telecom), has been posted as SP Telecom, ACS Kashmir.
  • Satish Kumar, SP (Telecom), has been posted as SP Telecom, ACS Jammu.

These postings are part of the ongoing efforts to streamline the administrative functioning of the J&K Police and improve operational efficiency across departments.
