The Jammu and Kashmir Police have assigned additional responsibilities to IPS officer Vivek Gupta (IPS:2007:AGMUT). In addition to his current role as IG Railways, Jammu and Kashmir, Gupta will now serve as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Traffic. This temporary arrangement will remain in effect until M. Suleman Choudhary (IPS:2007:AGMUT), the incumbent IG Traffic, completes his duties as an Election Observer.
An order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) stated, “Shri Vivek Gupta, IG Railways, JK, in addition to his own duties, shall also attend to the duties of IG Traffic, JK, till Shri M. Suleman Choudhary, IG Traffic, JK, rejoins after performing his duties as Election Observer.”
