Recently, the government of Karnataka transferred the District Commissioner of Mysuru, Dr. K V Rajendra (2013-batch IAS officer) amidst the controversy surrounding irregularities in plot allotments by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Despite the state government transferring 20 other IAS officers, transferring Officer Rajendra kicked up dirt as he had written letters to the MUDA and the state government to cancel the allotments of sites. Senior IAS officer Mr. Lakshmikanth Reddy G (2009 batch) replaced Officer Rajendra as Mysuru’s District Commissioner.
Officer K V Rajendra had penned 15 letters to MUDA, expressing his objection regarding the allotment of land under the 50:50 scheme, explaining that it was causing a loss of thousands of crores to the government. This conundrum has now been smeared with politics as the State BJP leader looks hellbent on grilling the sitting Congress CM over the “Rs 4,000 crore MUDA case.”
