In a recent development, the tenure of IPS officer Kaustubh Sharma, serving as Deputy Police Commissioner (D-1 level) with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, has been extended for an additional year. This extension, approved by the competent authority, was confirmed by an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on September 24, 2024.
Mr. Sharma, whose current tenure was set to conclude on September 30, 2024, will continue his service until September 30, 2025, following the Ministry of Home Affairs’ proposal for his extended term in the UN mission.
