Vijayawada: Mylavarapu Krishna Teja, a 2015 batch Kerala cadre Telugu IAS officer, will be the officer on special duty (OSD) to deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan. Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given his nod for the appointment of young officer. The state govt has requested the Centre to depute Teja to AP services as a special case.
Teja is presently district collector of Trissur in Kerala.Normally, an RDO rank officer is appointed as OSD to ministers.
However, in this case the chief minister has given his permission to bring Teja to AP following a special request made by Pawan. A native of Chilakaluripet in Palnadu district, Teja played a key role as sub-collector of Alleppey during the 2018 Kerala floods when he planned ‘Operation Kuttanadu’ to evacuate about 2.5 lakh people in 48 hours. He later mobilized funds for rehabilitation of flood victims through ‘I am for Alleppey’ campaign. Teja visited the state last week and met chief minister Naidu and Pawan.
