Kerala: IPS Sujith Das S Reinstated Into Service, Hasn’t Been Assigned A New Duty Yet

IPS Sujith Das S, the suspended chief of the Pathanamthitta District Police, has been reinstated into the state police service by the Kerala government after a General Administration Department order urged him to report to the Director General of Police. Officer Das (2015-batch IPS officer) has not yet been offered a new duty.

The development took place after recent revelations by Nilambur’s MLA, Mr. PV Anvar’s recent leaked phone conversation with Officer Sujith Das, in which the former Malappuram SP was heard pleading to withdraw a complaint in a tree-felling case in Malappuram.

The leak angered the state police, and DIG Ajitha Beegum (2008 batch IPS officer) stated that it put the force in a bad light. MLA Anvar claimed IPS Sujith Das was playing to the tune of ADGP MR Ajith Kumar (1995 batch IPS officer), whose activities he likened to the infamous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.

Officer V G Vinod Kumar (IPS) has been appointed District Police Chief of Pathanamthitta.
