Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi’s tenure is ending on March 31. Now senior IAS Anand Bardhan will be the new Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand government. Bardhan can take charge on March 31. Anand Bardhan has a long administrative experience. He was allotted UP cadre in 1992. He held many positions including District Magistrate and Collector of Rampur, Etawah, Pauri, Nainital and Haridwar. He served in financial institutions and public sector undertakings.
Notably, he worked as Joint Managing Director of UP Cooperative Sugar Factory Association Limited and General Manager of UP Financial Corporation. In his service so far, Bardhan has handled the responsibility of almost all the major departments of the government. In 2010, he was the Mela Adhikari in Haridwar Kumbh Mela.
He was also the Secretary of the Governor and Gopan (Council of Ministers). As Principal Secretary, he handled Food and Civil Supplies, Irrigation, Minor Irrigation, Mining, Sainik Welfare, Restructuring, Excise, Higher Education, Planning, EAP. He has also been the Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Dhami. He has also held the responsibility of Housing, Chief Administrator, UHUDA, Urban Development, Home and Prisons, Revenue Forest and Environment, Rural Development.

Anand Bardhan did Masters in Computer Application from Delhi University. BSc Honours in Physics from Delhi University and stood second in the entire university and did Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from ENA, France.
