Let us tell you that LUCC i.e. Loni Urban Multi State Credit Thrift Cooperative Society took advantage of the weakness of banking in remote areas. It cheated thousands of people of crores by luring them with loans and double returns. The company, which won the trust of some investors by giving them profits in the beginning, later appointed local agents. Large scale investments were made through these agents. When the money reached crores, the company absconded.
So far, a total of 13 cases have been registered in various districts of Uttarakhand, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal and Rudraprayag in the LUCC fraud case. These include 4 cases in Pauri district, 4 in Tehri, 2 in Dehradun, 2 in Rudraprayag and 1 in Uttarkashi.
