HYDERABAD: In a major reshuffle of IAS officers, the Telangana government has transferred over 40 IAS officers and posted new officers in various departments on Monday. This is the major reshuffle of officers after the Congress government came into power in December 2023. Last week, the government shifted 20 district collectors and has now transferred principal secretaries, secretary cadre officers, and heads of major civic bodies and departments.

Sandeep Kumar Sultania has been posted as the principal secretary of the finance department and planning department while continuing in the same panchayat raj and rural development until further orders.The special chief secretary of finance, K Rama Krishna Rao, will continue to head the finance department. The energy secretary and chairman and managing director of Telangana Genco and Transco, SAM Rizvi, has been shifted to the commercial taxes and revenue department as secretary. Sabyasachi Ghosh, who is the principal secretary of youth services, tourism, and culture, moved to the animal husbandry department.

Sanjay Kumar, who was waiting for posting after reporting back to the state from central deputation, has been posted as principal secretary of the labour, employment, and factories department. A Vani Prasad, who is currently the principal secretary of the environment and forest, will take over youth affairs, tourism, and culture.

Shailaja Ramaiyer, principal secretary, has been given the handlooms, textiles, and handicrafts department, and Ahmad Nadeem, who is now in the planning department, was given the environment and forest department and will also act as director general of EPTRI.

GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose was posted as secretary of the energy department, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) MD C Sudharshan Reddy as secretary in the General Administration Department (GAD), and Sarfaraz Ahmad as metropolitan commissioner of HMDA. Joint metropolitan commissioner of HMDA, Amrapali Kata, will continue as in-charge commissioner of GHMC.

Transport commissioner Jyoti Buddha Prakash has been posted as secretary and commissioner of the Registration and Stamps department, Housing, and survey and settlement, relieving principal secretary Navin Mittal from the post. He will continue as transport commissioner until Ilambarthi reports to the post. Commissioner of school education A Sridevasena has been made commissioner of collegiate education, and EV Narasimha Reddy will be the new commissioner.

Dasari Harichandana was posted as special secretary of the Roads and Buildings department, and Horticulture commissioner K Ashok Reddy will head the HMWS&SB. Inspector General of Police AV Ranganath has been posted as director of the vigilance and enforcement wing of GHMC.

G Ravi, who was waiting for posting, has been made member secretary of the Telangana State Pollution Control Board.
