Mussoorie: The queen of mountains, Mussoorie, has not remained untouched by the indiscriminate increase in illegal construction. Now MDDA i.e. Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority has come into action against these constructions which have become a threat to the natural beauty and planned development of Mussoorie. Under which MDDA’s bulldozer will run on illegal construction. This information was given by MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari.

MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari, who arrived on a visit to Mussoorie, said that the authority has started a planned and phased action against illegal construction. Mussoorie has been divided into sectors to control illegal constructions. Every week, the entire team of the authority will go to one sector and do survey and checking.

FIR will be registered if construction is found again at the sealed place: If illegal construction is found anywhere, immediate notice, sealing and if needed, action will be taken up to FIR. He said that the buildings which have been sealed earlier. If construction work is found to be going on there again, strict legal action will be taken by registering an FIR against the person responsible.

In view of the ever-increasing floating population and irregular construction in Mussoorie, a proposal for a one-time settlement policy has been prepared. This policy is considered to be a big step towards solving the years-old problems of Mussoorie. Banshidhar Tiwari said that the policy is now under consideration and its implementation will lead to development in Mussoorie with stability and planning.

He appealed to the people to use the MDDA website directly instead of wandering here and there. We have uploaded all the maps, using which the process of building a house can be made easy and legal.

Banshidhar Tiwari said that heavy rains have damaged the roads and footpaths of Mussoorie. As soon as the rain stops, as per the instructions of the Chief Secretary, Mussoorie will be visited and the work of repair and beautification will be started in the priority areas.

In view of the serious parking problem in Mussoorie, the work of construction of the much-awaited parking at Zero Point will be started soon. All the necessary paperwork in this regard has been completed. He also informed that no housing scheme could be brought in Mussoorie after the year 1998, but now proposals have been sought under the Land Pooling Policy.

Some proposals have been received, which will be tested and new housing colonies will be constructed after the process of land acquisition. He informed that the construction of an eco park is also proposed in Hussainganj to promote natural tourism. CM Dhami has laid its foundation stone. Construction work will also be started soon.
