Meeting held in Haridwar with ambassadors of several countries regarding investment in the state, senior officials of Dhami government gave presentation, told the features of Uttarakhand

Dehradun: A meeting related to detailed strategic discussion on investment AYUSH, tourism and culture was held in Haridwar with ambassadors / high commissioners / representatives of various countries who came to Uttarakhand on the occasion of International Yoga Day. Diplomats and other senior officials of Mexico, Fiji, Nepal, Suriname, Mongolia, Latvia, Sri Lanka and Russia, as well as Vice President Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Vinay Ruhela, Secretary Sachin Kurve, Dhiraj Gabrial, Jugal Kishore Pant, Additional Secretary Abhishek Rohilla, Vijay Kumar Jogdande, and officials of Industry, AYUSH, Tourism and Culture Department were present in the meeting on behalf of Uttarakhand government. Highlighting the immense tourism potential in the state and the important actions taken by the state government for tourism development, Secretary Sachin Kurve, while making a presentation to the foreign delegates, said that the state has 3 operational airports – Dehradun, Pantnagar and Pithoragarh – and 8 heliports, which ensure vital connectivity to remote areas and promote tourism and emergency access. In terms of road network, 46,000+ km of road network, with all-weather connectivity in various terrains, connects remote, pilgrimage and border areas throughout the year. Ropeways are being developed in the state as an alternative mode of transport in terms of ropeways. Ropeways are being developed in Mussoorie, Yamunotri and Purnagiri. Infrastructure Development and Redevelopment Initiatives in the State: Tehri Lake is being developed as a hub for water and air sports. George Everest Estate has been redeveloped with improved accessibility, infrastructure and visitor amenities. Under waste management, Kedarnath and Badrinath are plastic-regulated areas. Under the Better Toilet Initiative, bio-digester toilets are being developed and operated in the state. Under skill development, more than 5500 persons have been trained in the hospitality sector in the last 3 years. Under adventure tourism, the state has many adventure activities including skiing, bungee jumping, making it a paradise for adventure seekers. Kedarkantha, Valley of Flowers and Har Ki Dun are the centers of attraction in trekking trails. Naukuchtal, Dayara Bugyal and Dhanaulti are making their special place in paragliding. Rishikesh and Tons, Kali, Alaknanda and Dhauliganga are the centers of attraction in white water rafting and Kosi, Supin and Tons rivers are the center of attraction in fishing with golden mahseer and trout species. In terms of safari, the state has 6 national parks and 7 wildlife sanctuaries with more than 45% forest area. Highlighting the potential of AYUSH in the state and the excellent work done by the State Government, Additional Secretary Vijay Kumar Jogdande while making his presentation to the foreign delegates said that Uttarakhand is also known as AYUSH Bhoomi for its picturesque locales, favourable Himalayan climate and spiritual vibrancy. Apart from the gifts of nature, our law and order situation, transparent policies and abundance of skilled manpower have established the State as a leading destination for AYUSH and wellness business. We have well developed AYUSH infrastructure with abundance of skilled manpower to support the AYUSH and wellness industry. We are one of the fastest growing states in India.

Director Industries GM Chandola also made a presentation to the foreign delegates highlighting the investment friendly industry policies of the State. He gave detailed information to the foreign delegates about the policies made by the state government for the development of industries and to attract investments.
