The State Cabinet of Meghalaya has approved the appointment of former IPS officer H. Nongpluh as a non-judicial member of the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC). Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced that the selection committee proposed Nongpluh’s name following the retirement of a previous member.
Additionally, the cabinet endorsed the appointment of Lt. Col. Sebastian Marbaniang as Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer for Shillong, based on a recommendation from a committee led by the chief secretary.
The cabinet also approved the holiday list for 2025, which remains unchanged from the previous year, as confirmed by the Chief Minister.
