New Delhi: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has announced the transfer and posting of 31 Indian Information Service (IIS) Group ‘A’ officers across various media units in the country. The order, issued on Wednesday, includes several senior-level appointments and immediate postings to key positions in Press Information Bureau (PIB), Doordarshan News (DD News), All India Radio (NSD: AIR), Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), and the Defence Public Relations (DPR) wing.
The large-scale reshuffle is part of an administrative overhaul to ensure optimum resource deployment across the Ministry’s communication platforms and to strengthen public information dissemination.
Senior-Level Changes in Key Media Units
Some of the notable appointments include-
Ritu Shukla, ADG (M&C), PIB Jaipur, posted as ADG (News), NSD: AIR, New Delhi.
- Parvathy, Director, CBC Thiruvananthapuram, posted as Director, CBC, New Delhi.
Tejaswi Menda, Jt. Director (News), DDK Chennai, posted as Jt. Director (News), NSD: AIR, New Delhi.
- Leela Meenatchi, Director, CBC Chennai, now Director (News), DD News, New Delhi.
Amit Kumar, from Doordarshan HQ, retained in DD News as Director against a SAG-level post.
These changes reflect the Ministry’s strategic focus on bolstering news content production and public outreach via AIR and DD News.
Strengthening Regional Outreach and Defence Publicity
The reshuffle also ensures stronger regional representation and coordination-
Gagandeep Kaur, Dy. Director (News), DDK Jalandhar, will now handle DPR responsibilities in Jalandhar and Chandigarh.
Sudha S. Namboothiry, from DPR Thiruvananthapuram, posted to NSD: AIR, New Delhi.
Sanjay Kumar, from CBC Patna, moved to DD News, New Delhi.
The Ministry also reassigned personnel with dual charges, including:
Kareena B. Thengamam and Sapna, both assuming responsibilities in NSD: AIR with key roles in defence communication.
New Faces at AIR, DD News, and CBC
Several Assistant Directors (ADs) and Deputy Directors have been brought into newsrooms and regional units-
Farhat Praveen, Kailash Chand Meena, Sumedha Bhardwaj, and S. Joy are among those now posted as AD (News), DD News, New Delhi.
Tapan Kumar Maharana, Bishal Das, Mrinal Kanti Hait, and Koteswar Rao Gutha have been shifted to NSD: AIR, New Delhi in various news roles.
Patel Arohiben Mukeshbhai, formerly with PIB Ahmedabad, will now serve in DDK Ahmedabad.
The CBC has also received strengthened leadership with officers like:
Parag Kumar Mandle moved to CBC Bhopal with additional charge of Indore,
- A. Machhar now handling PIB Ahmedabad and CBC Ahmedabad.
Boost to Startups, New Entrants, and Technology-Driven Units
The list also includes transfers involving young officers and regional functionaries, reflecting the government’s intent to push forward its digital and regional outreach strategy.

Manoj Roorkiwal joins as Asst. PRO, DPR (Defence), New Delhi.
- Smithy and K. Devi Padmanabhan are now part of AIR units in Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai, respectively.
A Move Towards Better Media Governance and National Messaging
This reshuffle is in line with the Ministry’s goal of streamlining media operations, enhancing content synergy, and reinforcing information delivery networks from the national to grassroots levels. The realignment also strengthens the public service mandate of India’s national broadcasters and media arms by appointing experienced personnel to strategic posts.
