Dehradun: In order to conduct effective relief and rescue operations during floods in the plain areas of the state on June 30, in order to direct the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a mock drill will be organized on June 30. On Thursday, an orientation and coordination conference was organized for the preparation of the mock drill under the chairmanship of Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman. During this, all the districts were told in detail about various aspects regarding conducting mock drills.
Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had recently given instructions to conduct mock drills during the review meeting of the Disaster Management Department to effectively control the flood situation in the plain districts of the state and to strengthen mutual coordination and harmony between various departments. He informed that this mock drill will be organized in the plain areas of Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar and Dehradun, Nainital and Champawat districts.
He informed that the mock drill will be organized in such places where waterlogging and flooding situations have been occurring continuously for the last few years. He informed that table top exercise will be organized on 28th June and mock drill will be organized on 30th June. He informed that the mock drill will be organized under IRS i.e. Incident Response System. Notification of state, district and tehsil level IRS has been issued on 09th June. He informed that IRS is such a system in which the roles of all the officers and departments have been clearly mentioned. Now there will be no confusion about which department and which officer has to do what during relief and rescue operations at the time of disaster.
He informed that on the day of table top exercise, all the districts will tell about their preparations as well as availability of resources, their deployment, plan for mock drill. Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Anand Swaroop, Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Implementation DIG Rajkumar Negi, Joint Secretary JL Sharma, Joint Chief Executive Officer Mohd. Obaidullah Ansari etc. were present in the meeting. There will be practice of air dropping food packets
Dehradun. People in flood affected areas face food and other material crisis. In such a situation, food kits will also be airdropped during the mock drill. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman said that it is very important to practice dropping food from helicopters, because it is necessary to ensure the safety of the person dropping the food and that the food reaches the people safely. Actual food packets will be dropped during this exercise.
There will also be rehearsal on evacuation plan
Dehradun. Flood warning messages will be broadcast through WhatsApp, SMS, radio etc. During this, the designated routes, transport resources and safe places will be identified. Apart from clear guidance on maps/charts for the convenience of the people, effective rescue plans will be made for children, women, elderly, disabled.
Arrangements of relief camps will be tested
Dehradun. During the mock exercise, relief camps will be set up in flood prone areas. There, proper arrangements for electricity, water, food, first aid, infant food as well as pregnant women will be ensured and tested in real time. In view of the safety of women and children, police and home guard personnel will also be deployed in the relief camps.

ऽ Shifting of flood-affected people to Panchayat Bhawan/School.
