Suresh Gopi, a prominent figure in Malayalam cinema, ventured into politics by running for the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket in 2019. Despite securing the third position, his political journey continued as the BJP nominated him to the Rajya Sabha.

As a member of parliament, Gopi utilised his allocated funds to engage in social outreach initiatives, which appear to have resonated with the constituents during the 2024 general election. He actively sought to connect with the Christian community and gained the trust of voters through his involvement in grassroots protests against the alleged cooperative bank funds scam linked to the CPM.
Throughout his acting career, Suresh Gopi has demonstrated resilience and the ability to overcome challenges.
