Dehradun. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has a special affection for the Devbhoomi (land of the gods), is once again visiting the state. The occasion will be the main celebration of the silver jubilee of the establishment of the state of Uttarakhand on November 9th. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹8,000 crore. Among these, the much-awaited Jamrani Dam and Song Dam projects are prominent. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects related to various departments, including energy, tourism, and PWD. The Prime Minister will inspect a theme park and pavilion related to the state’s development journey and meet with intellectuals. He will then address a public meeting. In anticipation of his visit, the state government has finalized preparations for the event. Meanwhile, sources indicate that the inauguration of the Sainyadham has been postponed due to various reasons.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers the Devbhoomi (land of the gods) Uttarakhand his second home and the people of the state his family, a fact he has expressed on numerous occasions. Now that the occasion is the silver jubilee of the state’s founding, he will attend the main event at the Forest Research Institute on Sunday. The state will have high expectations from him. All eyes will be on what new gifts he will present to the state during this silver jubilee celebration. The main event will include inaugurations and foundation stone laying ceremonies for projects worth over Rs. 8,000 crore. These include the much-anticipated Jamrani Dam Project, costing Rs. 2,584 crore, and the dams of the Song Dam Project, costing Rs. 2,492 crore.
The Jamrani Dam Project will provide 117 MLD of drinking water to Haldwani city by 2053, while irrigating 9,500 hectares of land in Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts of Uttarakhand and 47,500 hectares of land in Bareilly and Rampur districts of Uttar Pradesh. The Song Dam Project will provide 150 MLD of drinking water to Dehradun by 2052. The Prime Minister will first meet approximately 250 intellectuals. Meetings with the Sant Samaj are also planned. The Prime Minister will also visit exhibitions from various departments. He will return after addressing the event.
