MoU between Uttarakhand Government and ITBP to promote tourism in border areas.

Dehradun: In the presence of Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi, an MoU has been signed between Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and Headquarters Northern Frontier, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India at the Secretariat to promote tourism in Uttarakhand. The Chief Secretary informed that under the flagship project Vibrant Village Program of the Government of India, priority has been given to the all-round development of villages in the border area and providing resources for the livelihood of the villagers is also the main objective. Heli services are being expanded in the border area by Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board to promote tourism in the border area. Famous religious tourist places such as Adi Kailash, Om Parvat, Timmarsain Mahadev etc. are located in the border area of ​​Uttarakhand where tourists face inconvenience in reaching due to inaccessible roads.

Keeping all these in mind, the Uttarakhand Government has decided to provide heli facility to the tourists. In which the helipads available in the jurisdiction of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force will be used. Apart from this, these helipads will also be used to provide medicines to the villagers living in Vibrant Village in case of emergency medical need and to take them to higher centers by helicopter. Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force is deployed in forward posts in three border districts of Uttarakhand (Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh). On this occasion, Secretary Mr. Sachin Kurve, Mr. Sanjay Gunjyal Inspector General, Northern Frontier, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, and officers of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and ITBP were present.
