In a significant reshuffle aimed at strengthening security and administrative efficiency, the Madhya Pradesh Government has made notable transfers within both the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS).
IPS Transfers:
In a critical move to address the ongoing Naxal challenge in Balaghat, a Naxal-affected district, the government has deployed Adarshkant Shukla, a 2021-batch officer from Morena, as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) for Anti-Naxal Operations in Balaghat. This strategic appointment aims to enhance the law enforcement presence in the region and tackle the security concerns posed by Naxal insurgents.
In a related development, Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, a 1992-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Special Director General (DG) of Naxal Operations at the Police Headquarters. Srivastava, who previously served as the Special Director General of Police (PHQ) of the Special Task Force (STF), will now lead the state’s efforts to counter Naxal activities with a more centralized approach, leveraging his vast experience in law enforcement.
IAS Transfers:
Along with the IPS reshuffle, the General Administration Department of Madhya Pradesh has also announced the transfer of 15 senior IAS officers. The changes are aimed at improving the administration’s efficiency in key departments across the state. Notably, KC Gupta, who was previously the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) in the Public Works Department (PWD), has been appointed as the Additional Secretary to the Governor. This move is expected to bring fresh leadership dynamics to the Governor’s office
