Mussoorie: Best Outdoor Trainee Officer Award, Kuhu Garg of Uttarakhand wins among 600 trainees, Home Minister honours her

Dehradun: During the foundation course at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, trainee IPS officer Kuhu Garg, daughter of former Uttarakhand Director General of Police Ashok Kumar, received the Best Trainee Officer award from Home Minister Amit Shah among 600 trainee officers, both male and female. After which she looked very happy. On this occasion, her father Ashok Kumar also congratulated Kuhu Garg. He said that his daughter was always outstanding.

Kuhu selected as Best Trainee Officer among 600 trainees: There is a very happy atmosphere in Kuhu’s house after receiving the Best Trainee Award. On this occasion, while talking to ETV Bharat, Kuhu said that this course was the 99 Common Foundation Course which is organised every year at LBSNAA. In this, all the trainee officers of all administrative services participate together. This course is of three months. He told that in this course, not only from the country but also from outside the country like Royal Bhutan, trainee officers were participating. In this way, 653 male and female trainee officers were participating in this entire training camp. This was the biggest course of LBSNAA till date. In this course, a category is made for those who perform well. Out of this, she has been awarded the Outdoor – Indoor Over All Female Trainee Award.

Kuhu has won 19 national medals in badminton

Let us tell you that Kuhu Garg is also a national player. She has been a national player in badminton. Due to a knee injury, she developed an interest in Indian Public Service. In the preparation of only limited time, she joined the IPS service by securing 178th rank in the 2023 UPSC batch in the first attempt itself. She is currently completing her three-month foundation course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie. In this, she was awarded the Best Trainee Award. While talking to ETV Bharat, Kuhu said that being a sports person, she has got a lot of help in this training. She said that physical fitness is also an important part of the curriculum in the academy. A healthy mind can exist only in a healthy body. She said that most of the trainees coming for this training have been away from fitness for a long time. Therefore, special focus is given on physical activity in the course. Various sports meets, athletics meets, morning PT are always held in this training. Speaking about her sports career left behind, Kuhu said that she has given 12 to 15 years to her sports. Sports is an important part of her life. She says that even today she goes to the gym or badminton court in her daily routine. Along with her physical fitness, she also keeps the sport alive inside her.

Kuhu Garg is the daughter of former Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar.

Her father Ashok Kumar is very happy with this achievement of Kuhu. Ashok Kumar retired from the post of Director General of Police of Uttarakhand last year. He said that his daughter has always been outstanding. Retired IPS officer of 1989 batch Ashok Kumar said that it is a very happy moment for him that his daughter Kuhu has received the honour from the hands of the country’s Home Minister. He said that Kuhu’s passion is worth seeing since childhood. He told that Kuhu has 19 national medals. He said that emerging as the best trainee in a batch of 600 trainees is a big achievement for her.
