Nainital: The Raj Bhavan in Nainital, Uttarakhand, has completed 125 years of its establishment. President Draupadi Murmu graced the event. The President launched a virtual tour of Raj Bhavan Nainital. The virtual tour will allow visitors to experience a digital tour of the historic Raj Bhavan.

The virtual tour can be accessed by visiting the Raj Bhavan’s website, governoruk.gov.in. A short film on Raj Bhavan Nainital was also screened on the occasion. The film effectively showcases the glorious heritage, architectural beauty, and historical significance of Raj Bhavan Nainital. Through the film, viewers will be able to learn about the history of the Raj Bhavan, its architectural features, and the state’s rich heritage.
President Draupadi Murmu explained the parliamentary system: On this occasion, the President said,
Just as the Rashtrapati Bhavan is a symbol of the republic in independent India, similarly, the Raj Bhavans in the states are symbols of the democratic system. After the formation of the state of Uttarakhand, this historic building has become an integral part of the state’s progress. In a parliamentary system, the Governor is the constitutional head of the state’s governance. The Constitution’s framers determined the Governor’s powers and duties after extensive deliberation. The people of the state view the Raj Bhavan as a place of honor. Therefore, all members associated with the Governor’s office should adhere to qualities such as simplicity, humility, morality, and sensitivity.
