Nainital: Raj Bhavan Nainital organized a program named after soldiers. Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) participated in it. On this occasion, the Governor honored the gallantry medal winners and ex-servicemen who did commendable work.
In the program, the Governor also presented letters of appreciation to the paramilitary force personnel and officers. The Governor said that Uttarakhand is the land of heroes. Which is also called Devbhoomi as well as Veerbhoomi. Many brave sons here have given their supreme sacrifice for the protection of the country. He said that Uttarakhand’s contribution to the Indian Army is about 18 percent, which shows that this state is really a strong backbone of the country’s defense. Every fifth soldier who sacrifices his life for the country is from Uttarakhand, this is not a coincidence, but the patriotism running in the veins of this state.
The Governor said that today’s program is a small effort to express our gratitude to those brave soldiers. It gives a message to our soldiers and their families that their sacrifice is not only invaluable to us, but is also a source of inspiration for the coming generations. Referring to Operation Sindoor, the Governor praised the strategic capability, technical proficiency and indomitable courage of the Indian Army. He said that this operation is proof that India is now fully alert and capable with new war systems and modern technologies.
