Nainital: The recent rape of a 12-year-old girl in Nainital district of Uttarakhand has shaken not only Uttarakhand but the entire country. 65-year-old Mohammad Usman has been accused of raping the 12-year-old girl. The police have arrested the accused and sent him to jail, but people’s anger is still not subsiding. Protests are being held across the state regarding this incident. At the same time, Nainital’s leading social and religious organization Anjuman Islamia has also announced a social boycott of the accused’s family.
Anjuman Islamia’s Sadar (President) Shoaib Ahmed held a press conference in Nainital regarding this matter. During this, he has clarified that the accused will no longer be invited to any religious, social or family event in Nainital. Even the accused’s family has been banned from visiting the mosque.
He said that there can be no place in society for such a heinous crime, and Anjuman Islamia considers such inhuman act completely reprehensible.

Along with this, assurance has also been given to provide all possible help to the victim and her family. The organization is making arrangements for financial and legal assistance for the victim’s family, so that they can get justice. The citizens of Nainital have described this decision as a positive step and said that this will send a strong message against fear and crime in the society. At the same time, many social workers have demanded that the government ensure speedy justice in such cases through fast track courts. This is the first time that a religious institution has publicly decided to boycott socially at this level against such a crime.
