National Security Advisory Board reconstituted, former R&AW chief Alok Joshi becomes chairman

Delhi: The National Security Advisory Board has been reconstituted by the Government of India. Former RAW chief Alok Joshi has been appointed its chairman. Former Western Air Commander Air Marshal PM Sinha, former Southern Army Commander Lieutenant General AK Singh and Rear Admiral Monty Khanna are retired officers from military services. Rajiv Ranjan Verma and Manmohan Singh are two members retired from the Indian Police Service. B Venkatesh Verma is a retired IFS in the seven-member board.

Meeting called at PM Modi’s residence

This decision has been taken after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in which 26 innocent civilians lost their lives and many were injured. Let us tell you that along with the CCS meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence today, two additional meetings were called, including the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs and the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs. A press conference will be held regarding this at 4 pm today. Let us tell you that in the second CCS meeting, security preparations were discussed in view of the Pahalgam incident. The last meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security was held on 23 April and detailed information was given about the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Government and Army in action mode

26 people were killed in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. After this attack, the Indian government and security forces are in action mode. Immediately after this attack, the Indus Water Treaty was canceled by the Indian government. The visas given to Pakistani citizens were also canceled and Pakistani citizens were asked to leave India and go to Pakistan.
