NDMA reviewed the ongoing relief and rescue operations in Dharali, Department Head Rajendra assured all possible help to Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Department Head and Member of National Disaster Management Authority Rajendra Singh reviewed the relief and rescue operations being conducted in Dharali on Thursday. He has assured all possible help to the state at the level of NDMA. He said that the Government of India and the Ministry of Home Affairs are fully standing with Uttarakhand. He praised the Uttarakhand government for the relief and rescue operations conducted in Dharali. Rajendra Singh held a meeting with top officials of NDMA, Army, ITBP, NDRF, Border Road Organisation, Air Force, Meteorological Department as well as other departments and discussed the further strategy regarding the rescue operation. He said that whatever assistance Uttarakhand needs at the level of NDMA will be provided immediately.

The rescue operation is being continuously monitored at the level of NDMA. He said that every possible financial assistance will be provided at the level of Government of India for the reconstruction work in Dharali. He asked Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman to send the initial assessment of the damage soon. He said that probably next week the inter-ministerial central team will come to Uttarakhand to visit the affected areas. He also asked to monitor the lake being formed in the upper region of Harshil and send a joint team of army and state agencies to the spot soon for water drainage.
