Now ‘outsiders’ can also become sub-inspectors in Uttarakhand Police, rules approved

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government keeps amending the rules from time to time in view of the public interest and future circumstances. In this sequence, the Uttarakhand government has decided to amend the Uttarakhand Police Sub Inspector and Inspector Service Rules. Under which the family members of outsiders serving in the military and paramilitary, central government undertakings in the state will also be able to apply for police sub-inspector recruitment. If selected, they will be regular employees of the state who will not be able to go out of the state.

In fact, in the year 2019, the Personnel Department had issued a government order in this regard, the provisions of which have been included in the Uttarakhand Police Sub Inspector and Inspector Service Amendment Rules. Which has been approved in the cabinet. After the implementation of this amendment rule, the seniority of inspectors has also been determined. Employees promoted to the post of Inspector before the year 2018 will be given seniority as per the earlier provisions, as well as they will be given the next promotion accordingly.

The seniority of the personnel who became inspectors after the year 2018 will be decided on the basis of the provisions made in the Uttarakhand Police Sub Inspector and Inspector (Civil and Intelligence) Service Rules- 2018. Also, after the implementation of this amendment rule, now along with the B-certificate of NCC, C-certificate has also been made mandatory.
