Dehradun: Products of local groups will be purchased for the ceremonies and meetings to be held in various departments and government offices under the state government. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has issued its orders.
In the order issued by the Chief Secretary on Thursday, it has been said that in Uttarakhand, with the cooperation of different departments, various types of high quality local products are being made by various self-help groups, farmer producer organizations, women farmers and single women entrepreneurs. The Uttarakhand government is also emphasizing on purchasing local products on priority basis for giving gifts in various government programs, meetings, ceremonies. In this sequence, all departments, offices will purchase local products for the programs and ceremonies under them. With this, along with strengthening the economic condition of the groups, people will also be able to get quality products.
Brand House of Himalayas of local products
It is prescribed that the state government has also launched the umbrella brand House of Himalayas of local products last year. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself during the Global Investor Summit held in Dehradun during December 2023. At present, a total of 35 products are included in eight categories under the House of Himalayas brand. This includes millets biscuits, Munsiyari, Chakrata, Harshil ki rajma, amaranth, toor dal, traditional red rice of the hills, jhangora, gahath, kale bhatt, tea, oil, personal care, handicraft products.
