Dehradun: Instructing to take the organization of 38th National Games in Uttarakhand as a golden opportunity and challenge, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi has instructed the officers to finalize the preparations promptly. CS has instructed to develop the sports infrastructure of the state to an excellent level for the National Games so that the emerging young sports talents of the state can benefit more and more in future. While chairing the meeting of the High Powered Committee (HPC) of 38th National Games 2024 in the Secretariat today, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi granted various financial and in-principle approvals.
To complete the procurement process on time, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi has given instructions to complete the tender process related to sports equipment in a timely manner. Along with this, the Chief Secretary has given instructions for effective coordination between all the concerned departments for the systematic and successful organization of the National Games.
Chief Secretary Smt. Raturi has given instructions for coordination with the Municipal Corporations of Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani and Rudrapur regarding the beautification of cities, repair of approach roads leading to the sports venues, waste management from the venues and providing the benefit of bus services to volunteers.
The Chief Secretary has directed UPCL to coordinate with the sports venues for ensuring uninterrupted power supply during the event and electrical safety certificates for the venues. Instructions have been given to the Payjal Nigam for coordination regarding structural safety certification of the venues.
The Chief Secretary has directed the Public Works Department to coordinate with regard to the beautification of inner and outer roads of the organizing cities and structural safety certification of the venues. Instructions have been given to the Tourism Department regarding promotion of Uttarakhand’s tourist places along with sports activities. Instructions have been given to coordinate with Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency Services for fire safety certification of the venues and adequate arrangements of fire brigade vehicles at the venues.
Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi has directed to coordinate with Airport Authority of India and Northern Railway Zone for providing space for free help desk facility, special space at airports and stations to receive players and guests and for pass facility.
The Chief Secretary has directed to coordinate with Senior Superintendents of Police Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital regarding security management at the venues, traffic movement, parking management, police escort for VVIPs and security provisions for dignitaries receiving protocol.
Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has directed the Food and Civil Supplies Department to give Fit to Eat certification to each venue of the 38th National Games. She has directed the Health Department to coordinate regarding the arrangements of physiotherapists, psychotherapists, nurses, medicines and other facilities at the venues.
Principal Secretary Shri R.K. Sudhanshu, Special Secretary Shri Amit Sinha, Secretary Shri Dilip Jawalkar, Shri Shailesh Bagauli and officials of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
