Dehradun: Pitkul provided a cheque of 11 crores as dividend to the Uttarakhand government. Managing Director Pitkul handed over the dividend cheque of 11 crores to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that to make Uttarakhand an energy state, the power corporations will have to cooperate with full activeness. The basic concept of the establishment of the state was to make Uttarakhand an energy state. He said that the state government is continuously working in the field of energy and alternative energy. The state government is trying to produce energy according to the demand of the state in Uttarakhand in the next five years. Rapid work is being done to make the state self-reliant in the field of energy. He directed the officials of Pitkul to expedite the work of 05 new sub-stations of Pitkul whose foundation stone was laid in September 2024.
Managing Director Pitkul P.C. Dhyani said that under the guidance of the Chief Minister, Pitkul earned a profit of Rs. 141.67 crore in the financial year 2023-24 as compared to Rs. 26.99 crore in the last year 2022-2023. For the last 03 years, a dividend of Rs. 5 crore was given to the Uttarakhand government every year. He said that under the able leadership and guidance of the Chief Minister, work is being done on various projects in Pitkul. At present, the transmission availability of Pitkul is also 99.70 percent, as a result of which one-third of the incentive amount received by Pitkul is given directly in the form of rebate in electricity tariff, benefiting the electricity consumers.
On this occasion, Additional Secretary Manmohan Mainali, Director Pitkul G.S. Badiyal, Arun Sabarwal from Pitkul, Manoj Kumar, Mrs. Shalu Jain, Pankaj Kumar were present.
